So you ask.. how the heck did I do it?
I keep getting questions, and although I shared along the way on Facebook.. here is my “secret”.. HARD WORK! But for real though, here’s how I did it broken down.
- I walked.. a lot. I started out walking 2 miles a day.. then 4-6 miles up to 6-8 miles a day! Our neighborhood is a 2 mile loop so it was very easy to track.
- I added in weight training 2-3x per week. I followed Beachbody workouts on Beachbody On Demand.
- I followed Beachbody’s meal guide – Portion Fix for my eating.
I started my “fitness journey” back in 2013 with Beachbody and loved how easy it was to workout at home. Having young kids made it hard to get to a gym so I found myself squeezing in moments for myself around their schedules. They have transitioned from DVD’s to online streaming since I started which has made it so much simpler! I lost 60 pounds when I first started after having my second baby and continued to have 2 more healthy pregnancies with the help of their tools. I was able to maintain a healthy weight with their meal guides and workouts for years.. Skip forward to 2020 and all that Covid brought, including severe depression and a 50 pound weight gain. Over time (a year- 2021-2022) I was able to lose 40 pounds with the help of Beachbody workouts, meal guides, and supplements. In January 2022 I got serious and decided to lose more weight. I was sitting at 180lbs which was “comfy” for me, but I knew I could do better for myself. I felt beautiful inside and out but I still didn’t feel completely healthy.

In January when I decided to get serious, I knew I needed to do something big. I started walking daily and focused hard core on my meals and portioning. I allowed “treats” as long as it was in moderation. In the past I struggled with binge eating and emotional eating, and if you understand that, it’s not easy to overcome. I knew I needed to make changes and binge eating had no place in my new lifestyle! I use containers for my portioning that show me exactly what to eat and I have been following it for years! It is such an easy, no nonsense program that I love! In 7 months I lost 50 pounds with walking, weight training, meal portioning and Beachbody supplements and I’d love to help you do the same <3
